Michigan Senate

The Michigan Senate at MSUMUN X seeks to engage students in the state of politics through an innovative, legislative-style committee. Addressing issues pertinent to today’s constantly changing political scene, students will embark on a three-day journey to save the state, immersing themselves in public policy, economics, and sociology. The committee will delve into questions such as: What will it take to transition Michigan’s economy after the collapse of the auto industry? How can we ensure every Michigan citizen receives a good education? In the 21st century, what role does sustainability play in politics? What should Detroit do to revitalize itself? And ultimately, how can the Michigan Senate make the state a place people want and are able to live?
