RCMUN Announcement

Hello teachers and advisors!

I am ecstatic to announce that I will be serving as USG of RCMUN once again! I can’t wait to begin the planning of RCMUN III and I look forward to working with all of you. In preparation for the conference next year I am trying to pin down a date and location before the school year ends, RCMUN will once again be taking place in February, the date is pending based on the on campus location chosen for the conference as we have grown too large for South Complex! I will be sending you all updates as I plan out the conference, in the mean time I have a few side projects I will be working on as well.

I know many of you are still looking for resources for how to teach MUN, I will be working with our new USG of Committees Sam Herzing and USG of Crisis Peter Sattler to put together a resource guide that I will send out as soon as possible. Also, I know many of you met during the conference, but I would love to set up a way for you all to communicate more freely. MUN is a very close knit community and I think it would help us all to be able to actively communicate with one another to share ideas and experiences. If you are interested in this please send me an email with your contact information you want to be shared and I will send out a contact sheet for everyone. I would also like to throw out the idea of a teachers only conference in the fall that would allow you all to be able to learn more about MUN to more effectively teach it to your students. Personally I would love to host such an event, but I want to make sure there is still people interested in this, if you are, please email me and include which month in the fall would work best for you and if there is enough interest I will begin planning!

Additionally, if any of you are still interested in continuing MUN involvement with your students this year, we are still available for outreach. Just email Kevin VanLiew at internalaffairs@msumun.org to schedule a day for us to come to you and share some lovely MUN knowledge with your students.

Its going to be a wonderful year for MUN, and the best RCMUN yet! Once again let me express my excitement to be returning to this conference, I truly love working with all of you! Please feel free, as always, to email me any time if you have questions, comments or concerns about anything MUN related!

Thanks,

Mary Connolly
