Crisis Drops
Crisis drops, or “drops” for short, are one of the most fun and unique parts of a crisis committee! When a crisis drop occurs in committee, backroom staffers will come visit your committee room with a theatrical update about what is currently happening in the world your committee takes place in. These drops may alert you to a new issue that the community is facing.
Drop Examples
In a medieval committee an example drop could be that a new plague has deceased upon your people and that hospitals are overloaded!
In a more modern committee, a drop could tell you of fellow delegate’s backroom arcs such as a new cooperation that has come out of nowhere and is buying all the spaceship parts that your board of directors has been trying to secure for weeks.
Sometimes, drops even tell you the consequences of a directive you passed recently like that you didn’t comply with the British’s demands and now they are sending 15 armed ships to your border! There are several interesting and necessary roles a crisis drop fulfills and our crisis staffers love to be creative and entertaining when they tell you what new problems your committee must address! Crisis drops are one of the best parts of participating in a crisis committee and we can’t wait for you to see how they work in real life!
Helpful Tips For Crisis Drops
Take written notes on the crisis drop! Making sure that your committee is addressing all of the issues presented by staffers is important to a fulfilling conference weekend.
Have questions prepared for the end of a crisis drop! Asking good and involved questions shows our staff that you are paying attention and are passionate about committee.
Find your niche! When deciding what to address in committee – it always helps to be the point man on your own unique issue. If everyone is up in arms about the first part of the drop, consider drafting your own directive on the second issue!
It's always a good sign if your backroom arcs are making it into drops. Try and coordinate with the backroom to supply interesting events of your own creation that can be acted out in drops to link your backroom and frontroom arcs!
