Never Go in Against a Sicilian When Death is on the Line!: War of the Sicilian Vespers, 1282

After pulling of a successful rebellion in toppling the oppressive regime of King Charles I of House Anjou, the Sicilian Vespers now has to figure out what to do with burnt ships in its harbors, thousands of suffering Sicilians, bands of murderous Sicilians seeking revenge against the French tyrants, and no governing body to unify the panicking cities scattered throughout the region. In this moment of weakness, the Angevin Kingdom of Naples, the Kingdom of France, the Papal States, and the Crown of Aragon all can be heard across the Mediterranean as they charge for the southern region of Italy in an attempt to secure an epicenter of European trade. But what about the Kingdom of Sicily? The Sicilian Vespers have a golden opportunity to forge their own path and breathe new life into an independent Kingdom of Sicily. This gathering of Sicilian officials must decide what to do with its newfound freedom, as there are many conflicting ideas that must be deliberated on if they are to face this crisis head on. Do you want to be absorbed into another empire? Or do you want to restore the Sicilian crown to its former glory? The answer awaits you in the south of Italy, where the Vespers must seize the day!
