How’s the Weather Down There? World Meteorological Organization 2025

Every day, our world is changing. Not only in the people who make it up, the societies they live in, and the technology that supports them, but the very world around them is constantly changing. Clouds form and disperse, the wind blows and calms, temperatures rise and fall, and water flows and stops. The many domains of the atmosphere and hydrosphere of our planet are surveyed under the banner of the World Meteorological Organization, one of the UN's sixteen specialized agencies. The organization maintains a portfolio of meteorology and hydrology, two of the rapidly evolving domains that impact all different manners of policy. The World Meteorological Organization dedicates itself to constant data collection, analysis, and policy crafting on these topics that affect all of the billions of people around the world. Delegates in the WMO will have the opportunity to represent their country as they come together to address many of the issues the organization’s portfolio is currently facing, whether that is the development and protection of freshwater access or working to face the ever-increasing phenomenon of extreme weather.
